October already! We produced a conference for 200+ people at a local stately home – providing; stage, set, lighting, projection, PA and slide support. We also recorded a HD 720p NTSC interview for a US company, the shoot was in the UK, the rushes were couriered to California on a hard disc drive for the customer to edit, if only we could get a decent broadband connection we could have uploaded it! Come on BT … 356kbps is shocking!!!

In early August we planned and delivered a live satellite link from a super yacht (talk about how the other half live!) in Cannes harbour, France to Los Angeles USA to enable a VIP to take part in a live press and media conference in Los Angeles and to take questions by return audio from the press and media. I think you can say we added a certain Tx factor!
In late August we planned and delivered a video conference link between London and Sydney, for a dual listed company results presentation to analysts and journalists in London and Sydney. We also provided a satellite feed of the event for broadcasters in; Australia, USA, Canada, South Africa and the UK to downlink.

July tends to be a quiet month, so we busied ourselves with clearing out the old… we sold all our remaining standard definition video cameras and replaced them with HD cameras. The new cameras can record full HD 1080i or 720p and SD, both HD and SD can be either PAL or NTSC, the recording is to solid state SDHC cards and can be done directly in FCP format for instant editing. We left a single XDcam disc on the shelf for old times sake …alongside the DVCam, VHS, Digibeta and Beta SP….now where did I put that SDHC card!!!

In early May 2011 we planned and delivered a two way satellite link between London and Johannesburg for the AGM of a dual listed company. The satellite links were backed up by IP and ISDN video conference links. Just over a week later we upped the scale a bit and delivered two way satellite links between London and Den Hague for another dual listed company’s AGM, this time we had two simultaneous satellite links in each direction, a live back up satellite link in each direction, two back up video conference links, back up on audio only links, back up audio on translation plus communication links….did I miss anything!
