ISDN and Broadband (IP)

Mustard Links is pleased to be able to promote to our customers video-conferencing over broadband (IP) for large special events, offering a real alternative to expensive satellite links.

We can use your existing broadband (IP) connection to provide a video-conference link for your event. What’s more, unlike ISDN, there is no additional call cost. 

By way of example, for one of our customers’ events we have run links in parallel over the Internet and ISDN between the UK and Australia.  The Internet links have been running at 768kbps and the ISDN links at 384kbps, both being in use for 3-4 hrs.

Video-conferencing over broadband (IP) is as reliable as ISDN, but because the link speed is much higher the picture and sound quality is much better. To get a good solid connection we need a broadband speed of 1Mb in both directions.

We have a video-conference unit set up in the office on our broadband to enable us to do pre-event testing.

Our Tandberg Codecs facilitate links by both ISDN and Broadband, and we can bridge between an ISDN link and a broadband link.
